PEU
branding and logo design
PEU was the fictional brand I created when tasked with coming up and branding a whole new company and product.

Ever since creating PEU, I have redone some of the brand to better fit my initial vision. PEU is bright, colourful, and bold— and every piece of the branding needs to convey that.

the beginning
PEU is a brand that sells acrylic pens and a few stationary items. It's promise is to help artists achieve their vision by providing good quality and saturated art supplies.
PEU's first rendition was made using lines and squares.

It's blocky, and meant to look playful with the caption under it clear: "The Pen that Pops".
But my problem with this was that, for a brand based on creativity and vibrancy, the logo was rigid. It told you what it was, and the colours were strangely dull.
Additionally, the execution of the logo made it hard to edit.
the redo
I remade the logo from scratch with one question in mind: How do I show this brand?

I drafted a few concepts based on the first version.
I wanted to maintain the 'pop' that the name PEU represents, but this time I considered legibility and understanding.

I took the opportunity to tie in flowy strokes resembling a pen, and changed the colours to be more vibrant.

With these changes, the logo tells the brand clearly. It improves the first edition, and brings it closer to the brand identity.

I also created a short animation for the logo.

I chose to do this frame by frame, to mimic frame-by-frame animation and link back into the artistic base of this brand.
